All the pacing issues that affected Forspoken's main story are magnified by In Tanta We Trust's length - which, bafflingly, ends with a sequel set up. For all of Forspoken's eye-rolling quips and facetious lines of dialog that undermine the seriousness of its own setting, Frey feels like a well-rounded, dynamic character, and a journey with her mother - who doesn't know she's inhabited Thalia's body - is tragically not given the narrative room to breathe. Athia, its history, and its culture are all fairly novel as far as fantasy game worlds go, and the idea of witnessing the four, seemingly all-powerful Tantas confront the invasion that will eventually lead to their downfall and the Break has merit. Ignoring Frey's involvement, the premise of witnessing and engaging with the Reddig invasion is interesting.
